Why large formats need a different kind of pouring tool
A magnum holds 1.5 liters, a double magnum 3, a jeroboam 4.5 in Bordeaux (3 in Champagne), a methuselah 6. Past a certain size, a bottle stops being something you simply pour from. A full 3-liter bottle is heavy, awkward to grip, and unforgiving once tilted. The moment you tilt it, the load shifts and wants to keep going.
That creates two practical problems. The first is control: a wrist and a forearm were not designed to hold several kilograms at an angle while keeping a pour steady. The second is the wine itself. In older bottles, sediment rests along the lower side. A jerky pour stirs it back into the glass.
The usual workarounds are a second pair of hands, a bottle cradled against the body, or a basket. All of them work, with varying elegance. A purpose-built cradle replaces them with a mechanism that carries the weight for you.

How the MagnuMaster dual-pivot mechanism works
The heart of every MagnuMaster is a proprietary dual-pivot mechanism. The bottle sits in the cradle, and the two pivots let it rotate in a controlled arc, so a great deal of weight moves very gently. You operate it with one hand. The pour starts slowly, stays smooth, and stops where you stop it.
Three benefits follow from that design:
-
Control. The balance of the cradle takes the strain, so you can pour precisely rather than muscle the bottle.
-
Sediment separation. A slow, steady tilt helps minimize sediment disturbance, which matters for mature vintages.
-
Natural aeration. A gradual pour lets the wine meet air as it leaves the bottle.
It also changes the room. Guests watch a large bottle served with ease, which is part of why hotels, fine-dining rooms and wineries use it as a point of presentation as well as a tool.
The range: three models for bottles from 0.75 to 30 liters
All three models are made in Austria in the same anthracite finish with an iron-glimmer effect. They differ in the bottle sizes they carry.
| Model | Bottle range | Published price | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| MagnuMaster L | 0.75 to 6 liters | €2,580 | Home cellars, restaurants, standard through methuselah |
| MagnuMaster XL | 3 to 18 liters | €3,300 | Wineries, hotels, double magnums to larger formats |
| MagnuMaster XXL | 5 to 30 liters | €9,500 | Showpiece service of the very largest bottles |
The prices above are those published on our own site in euros. A reseller sets its own terms for its market, so ask them what applies where you are, including local taxes and shipping. However, all resellers calculate based on equal net works, net prices as we do ouurse
Custom powder-coated finishes are available for an additional €550, and personalized engraving is included with every unit.
MagnuMaster L and XL: our bestsellers
Most customers choose between these two. The MagnuMaster L suits a collector or restaurant that mainly serves magnums and double magnums, and it also handles an ordinary 750 ml bottle. The MagnuMaster XL is for those who pour from 3 liters upward, up to 18 liters, for example a venue that regularly opens imperial-size bottles.

The overlap between 3 and 6 liters is deliberate. If you sit in that zone, the question is what you may want to serve in future. If larger formats are a real possibility, the XL gives you room to grow. If your cellar tops out at a double magnum or a jeroboam, the L is built for it.
MagnuMaster XXL
The XXL takes bottles from 5 to 30 liters. It is a specialist piece for the rare occasion where a very large bottle is the centerpiece of the evening. If you are considering it, speak with your regional reseller or with us before ordering, since this size is a deliberate choice.
What an official reseller is, and why it matters
An official reseller is a business the manufacturer recognizes as a point of sale and contact for its product in a given market. That is different from a general wine merchant who happens to stock something similar. Across the wine-equipment trade, manufacturers describe it in similar terms. One brand tells buyers to purchase only from its own site or listed distributors in order to receive genuine products, warranty and full service. Another says its distributors act as brand ambassadors who guide customers through product selection.
For you, the practical meaning is simple: a named, local contact who knows the product, speaks your language and your time zone, and is listed by the maker.
How to check that a seller is genuine
The safest route is to start from the manufacturer. Use the reseller list we publish at magnumaster.at, or write to us and ask us to confirm a seller by name. Before you buy from anyone, check that:
-
The seller is one we have named, not simply a marketplace listing.
-
The seller can tell you in writing what is included: engraving, finish, delivery, and who handles questions afterward.
-
The price and terms are in writing before payment.
If a listing on a third-party marketplace offers a MagnuMaster and we have not named the seller, ask us before you pay.
Meet the resellers
Each partner below serves its own region. We describe what they do for readers in general terms. For specifics such as what is on the shelf today, delivery options and local pricing, speak with them directly.
Drinkz.nl, the Netherlands
Drinkz.nl is our reseller for the Netherlands. Dutch collectors, restaurants and hotels can use it as their first point of contact: to learn how the cradle works, to compare the MagnuMaster L and MagnuMaster XL for their bottle sizes, and to ask about finishes and engraving in their own language.
WineBank Zürich, Switzerland
WineBank Zürich represents MagnuMaster in Switzerland. Swiss cellars often hold large formats for the long term, and mature bottles are exactly where careful pouring counts. Collectors and venues in Switzerland can ask WineBank Zürich about the models and how they fit their cellar or dining room. Its contact details are on the reseller list at magnumaster.at.
Stellez Vine, Singapore
Stellez Vine is our partner in Singapore. For hotels, restaurants and private collectors in the city and region, it offers a local route to the range, so you can ask questions about the L, XL and XXL without managing an overseas inquiry yourself.
Panache Wine Cellars, USA
Panache Wine Cellars is our reseller in the United States. American wineries, fine-dining restaurants and collectors can use it to learn about the cradles and decide which model matches their bottles. Pouring a magnum tableside is a common request in American wine service, and a local contact makes that conversation easier.
What local access gives you
Buying a premium tool is different from buying a bottle of wine. A few things are worth having close at hand.
-
Guidance in context. Which model suits a 3-liter bottle? Is the XL too much for a home cellar? A knowledgeable contact answers in minutes. Resellers in the wider trade are described by manufacturers as people who guide customers through product selection and the overall experience.
-
A defined territory. When a region has a named contact, you know where to turn. Established brands publish this clearly: one lists its Swiss distributor with address, phone and named contacts, which is the standard worth expecting from any listing.
-
Support after the sale. Ask any seller who to contact about questions after delivery, and get the answer in writing.
-
Practical logistics. Language, currency and shipping are simpler with a regional partner. Confirm the specifics with them.
We do not claim exclusive territories, guaranteed stock, or particular service packages for any reseller. Those terms belong to each business, and a good reseller will state them plainly.
If you are moving a cellar
Collectors who relocate sometimes ask about the cradle and the bottles together. The bottles deserve planning first: moving a wine collection safely is a topic of its own, including temperature limits and when to hire professionals. Once the cellar is settled, a regional reseller can help you choose the cradle for its new home.
Our perspective: why we work with local partners
We build every cradle by hand in Austria, and we have done so since 2011. Customers range from private collectors to wineries, luxury hotels and fine-dining restaurants worldwide, and our experience is that the decision to buy rests on understanding. People want to see how a heavy bottle moves, ask what fits their cellar, and hear it from someone nearby.
The cradle is a simple idea carried out with precision. The dual-pivot mechanism takes the weight so your hand only guides. Everything else follows from that: the steady pour, the calm of the room, the sediment staying where it belongs. A local partner can show and explain that in a way a product page cannot.
We choose partners who care about wine service, and we ask you to confirm any seller with us if you are unsure. Our promise is the same wherever the cradle is bought: Austrian craftsmanship, a mechanism we designed ourselves, and engraving included.

Choosing your model and finish
Before you contact a reseller, a few questions make the conversation faster:
-
What is the largest bottle you will serve? Match it to the model range: L up to 6 liters, XL up to 18, XXL up to 30.
-
What is the usual bottle? If it is mostly magnums, the L is the natural fit.
-
Will it live at home or in a venue? Venues often favor the XL for its reach into larger formats.
-
Do you want a custom finish? Powder coating is an additional €550. The standard anthracite with iron-glimmer effect needs nothing extra.
-
What should the engraving say? A name, a cellar, a venue, a date. Engraving is included with every unit, and corporate buyers often use it for branded gifts.
The custom finish and engraving page explains the options in detail.
